Note: The manager is looking for someone with solid web-based application
design and coding skills using Cold Fusion, SQL Server, Javascript, JQuery,
WordPress(PHP). Previous experience with MySQL, Linux Adm and Apache is
also needed.
Job Description:
Works independently, delivers state-of-the-art application design,
development and support that are full system in scope. Keeps abreast of new
and emerging business systems design and development techniques and makes
appropriate recommendations for their use. Aware of business impacts to the
solutions delivered. Provides advice, guidance, training and support to
business and information technology users, business partners, vendors and
management. Can expect to work in diverse areas such as interactive web
design, database architecture, user applications, etc.
Develops and implements solutions for business problems.
Performs necessary investigation, analysis, and evaluation to determine
project feasibility.
Develops project cost and benefit estimates. This includes the
development of alternative recommendations for new business systems or
changes to existing business systems.
Advises on the implications of existing business systems that can be
applied to the problem.
Estimate resource needs. Develops work plans, task sequencing and
determines the extent to which tasks may be performed concurrently.
Prepares structured charts, tables, and logic diagrams needed in problem
analysis.
Develops programming specifications and supports data design.
Performs business analysis, systems analysis/consulting, and detailed
systems design.
Implements application development standards for designing, building and
maintaining applications, applications components, and common services
including the use of standard languages and tools.
Defines, builds and executes rigorous and thorough testing plans for
assembly, component, life cycle and stress testing phases of implementation.
Implements software engineering methods/practices.
Participates in architecture and design reviews.
Reviews and communicates system enhancement needs, leading the solution
implementation.
Experience/Skills:
5-7 years experience in ecommerce, web-based programming specializing in
Cold Fusion, Java Script, AJAX, CSS, HTML, DHTML, XML, XPath, XSLT,
relational database design and SQL programming. 3-5 years experience with
LAMP web technologies (Linux, Apache, MySQL, php), specifically as
associated with WordPress implementations. 3-5 years experience in OOD/OOP
using an MVC framework such as: Mach-II. 3-5 years experience using
Microsoft SQL Server. Experience with Flash and/or Flex ActionScript a huge
plus. Experience with .Net, ASP.Net, C#, VB.Net a plus. Experience in
dynamic, graphical representation of complex datasets a plus. Experience
with financial data and index calculation methodology a plus. Experience in
agile programming techniques such as SCRUM a plus.
Technical Skills:
In depth knowledge of business systems analysis and modeling including
workflow analysis.
In depth knowledge in implementing business system solutions with regard
to application architectures, development tools and application engineering
methods/practices.
In depth knowledge of user interface design, process design, data
distribution techniques.
In depth knowledge of business systems computing, including design,
development and implementation at a full system scope.
In depth knowledge of distributed computing and file and object data
structures/products.
Hands on knowledge of middleware integration, application
troubleshooting/debugging tools/techniques.
In depth knowledge of technology architectures and products.
In depth knowledge of software performance tuning.
In depth knowledge of coding in a high level language.
General Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral.
Ability to interface effectively with other technical groups and
end-users.
Ability to work both independently and as a part of a project team.
In-depth knowledge of project management processes and methodologies with
an emphasis on managing systems maintenance, enhancement and development
projects.
In-depth knowledge of project estimating, risk and change management.
