“Ngoja nikueleze Joshua… utashindwa. Ulichokifanya mwaka 2012 hakitatokea tena mwaka huu,” alisema Mutharika.
“Kwanini hakuona tukio hilo baya? Hii inaonesha kuwa ni muongo. Anataka tu kujipatia fedha,” alisema Rais Mutharika.

Malawian President Peter Mutharika was Saturday in political battle mood, taking on the opposition, Nigerian famous Prophet TB Joshua and the media telling them he is not resigning or dying.
Speaking at Dae Yang Lukes premises in Lilongwe which he had temporary turned into a battle field, Mutharika said he is not going anywhere despite a campaign to force him resign because of persistent food shortage and economic malaise facing the nation.
“Some people want to chase me away, they want me to resign so that they can take over the government through the back door because they know they will not defeat me at the ballot box in 2019.
“ Let me tell you, am not going anywhere, am not resigning,” said 76-year-old President Mutharika.
He was speaking during the opening of a teaching university hospital.
Mutharika warned the opposition not to dare bring a bill in parliament that would trim his powers as Republican President saying he would veto it.
“Don’t waste your time, I will veto It, ” said Mutharika seemingly losing his cool.
He said the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is a progressive party which is tackling problems facing the country without finger pointing.
Turning to the Nigeria prophet TB Joshua who had earlier made a prophecy that many interpreted that it may mean Mutharika or Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe would die by April 30, the Malawi President, flanked by his second wife Gertrude and minister of Health Peter Kumpalume, said the prophet was “crooked “ saying he raises money through “false” prophecies.
“Let me tell TB Joshua and your sisters (, you will fail. What you did in 2012, ( accurately prophesying the death of Bingu wa Mutharika), will not happen [this time around],” he said.
Mutharika said if Nigeria’s TB Joshua is a real prophet of his own class, why did he fail to prophesy the fall of his hotel that killed 90 people.
“I am here as President up to 2024. In 2029 (when my term expires) I will campaign for a DPP candidate,” said the President.
Mutharika also stressed that he is not dying soon.
He said the opposition should not start celebrating his death as they did with Bingu when they allegedly bought cattle and rice for partying following his sudden death.
Mutharika did not spare the media, especially columnists whom he accused of deliberately stalking him for a fight.
“For once, let me agree with Joyce Banda when she said she no longer read Malawi newspapers. I too stopped reading Malawi newspapers from January,” said Mutharika.
He said there was no way the government can fall off because of food scarcity, saying he has been assured by Admarc general manager that maize trucks are now entering the country from Zambia saying there is now plenty food in the country.
“As I said before, I will never leave you alone, I will die here. No one intimidates Peter Mutharika,” he said defiantly.
On the Dae Yang Teahing University Hospital, he said it will help the country save forex as country referrals are made to South Africa or India.
Mutharika said he has over 150 requests from people to have their loved ones referred abroad for specialised treatment but said the government cannot afford.
He said after completion of the teaching hospital construction, complicated diseases like heart diseases and cancer would be treated there.
The opposition, TB Joshua and the columnists are yet to respond.
