M7 Vows To Get Tough On Police Over Soaring Crime
President Museveni has yet again accused the Uganda Police Force of harbouring criminals, and has promised to take action against wrong elements in the force.
The President who was speaking at the launch of the Skilling Girls Initiative, said that, with good intelligence, he would crack down on wrong elements in the Police Force.
“Crimes like stealing, burglary, homicide and rape disturb public peace. Police has been sleeping on all these matters,” Museveni said.
He however admitted that he is the one to blame since police is under him, and added that he is accountable for all the deeds in police force.
It’s from this matter therefore that he vowed to crackdown on rogue policemen before he carries their cross.
The President first openly complained about the Police at the vigil of then Police Spokesperson AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi who was gunned down a few metres from his home by yet to be identified assailants.
