President William Ruto and Governor Johnson Sakaja have signed a fresh cooperation pact aimed at enhancing livability and security in Nairobi. The agreement will see the national government inject an additional KSh 80 billion into the county to tackle persistent urban challenges and improve service delivery.
As part of the deal, the national government will assume control of certain county functions to ensure efficiency. This marks the second instance since devolution that Nairobi has sought national government intervention to stabilize and improve city management.
