Call for Applications – Roster of Peace building Professionals
Peaceful Change Initiative (PCi) is looking for experienced peace building professionals to provide occasional and short-term support to our Middle East and North Africa programmes.
PCi’s work is currently instrumental in delivering tangible human security and peace building impact across Syria and Libya. We are very keen to maintain this momentum by expanding our network of excellent peace building professionals who are able to help rapidly scale up our work when urgent situations or peace building opportunities arise. Your support in helping us build this network would be greatly appreciated.
As an ideal roster candidate, you will:
- Have at least 7 years’ experience in peace building. In particular, you will have expertise in one or several of the following areas:
- Have proven experience of facilitating difficult conversations between people experiencing conflict
- Have proven experience of providing advice at both a strategic and a specific activity level
- Be willing and able to deploy on field missions at relatively short notice for up to three months
- Have the willingness to work as part of a small geographically dispersed team but also to work with minimal supervision, ability to absorb information quickly and provide quality advice with short lead-in times, proven experience of working in complex and difficult environments, a can-do attitude, result-focus, emotional intelligence, self-awareness and the ability to put yourself in others’ shoes.
- Excellent English language skills (required)
- Arabic language skills (this is an advantage rather than a requirement)
PCi offers a competitive package of financial compensation and benefits for members of the Peace building Professionals Roster who undertake agreed assignments (fees will depend of level of experience and the nature of the assignment).

- Monitoring and evaluation of peacebuilding programmes
- Providing policy advice on peacebuilding issues
