Authorities said the Swiss air force had scrambled F-18 aircraft to escort the plane 'because of a bomb threat'.
According to local reports, two supersonic booms could be heard at around 8:30am in the northern Swiss canton of Schaffhausen, in German-speaking Switzerland, as the FA-18 fighter jets scrambled to reach the passenger plane.
