There are trends in TZ politics which cannot pass through serious minds without drawing some comments...and i will talk about this no matter what....Now in TZ we see a very high level of nepotism in politics...and many people here seem to take this as normal...and some even give praises for this sad trend....
I really don't understand Tanzanians...we see nepotism in ministerial posts picks.....we see nepotism in public servants picks....we also see nepotism in MPs picks.......and some of these people are being prepared to be our future rulers….to replace their parents/seniors....and worse enough, no merits are always considered in these picks....and people sit here and offer their hypocritical congrats!!!..naah!!!.....only in TZ yaani...
If Tanzanians (especially the educated ones) will fail to decry this open nepotism...then TZ will never change because these picks will always protect and conserve the status quo ......In fact...nepotism is one of key features of JK's leadership (you can't exclude this sad reality from his leadership).. .and TZ may be leading on this untold reality in Africa (much as it leads in begging, albino killings ..etc..etc...very sad indeed...
Yaya...the recent EAC nominations are among many nepotistic incidents we have had in TZ....the Arumeru nomination is another one....there are many of them....if you go deeply through the cabinet nominations...the MPs(including special sits)....permanent secretaries....RCs....DCs...and even the ambassadors....Sometimes people wonder why is it so difficult to deal with corruption in TZ....my friends...nepotism is one of the reasons why corruption is endless in TZ....why?...how can you punish your fellow/friend/hawara/colleague/sister in law/bro in law/son/daughter/father in law/mother in law ...etc etc??????.....Mkuu, though you did't cite out, but my mind compels me to believe that you're among other incidents, talking about the recent nomination of CCM candiadtes for EAC parliament.
It pains very very much to make the people think and believe that among almost 10 million eligible Tzs, these few big names are the only proper candidates just because their parents were former political leaders or higher echelons of the civil service inTz,!!!???,
Nepotism,
But when and how will our people realise this and say emphatically no! enough is enough.
Oh my goodness, only in Tanzania!!!
ndio sababu hamna kuwajibishana TZ......This is what is happening in Arumeru right now.......political homage....constituents have become family property...when one departs...daughters/sons become heirs! Jjust look at the names picked for EALa...walewale..yaleyale....lol!
Asha..very few of them offspring's end up being better than their parents.....the probability is near to zero....actually you need to know that the prior reason as to why they get picked by their seniors/parents is to protect/preserve their seniors/parents legacies.....so how do you expect them to change for the better!!...its really sad that many Tanzanians know about this but they can't do anything to prevent it from happening....i think the best way to deal with this is through the vote......if truly Tanzanians knew the true meaning of their votes...we wouldn't be where we are today.....Nderingosha... Nepotism cannot be absconded in whatever way; particularly due to the fact that Us as Tanzanians are really good and complaining but do not possess the guts to face the ones responsible for Nepotism at all be it at a lower/higher level... But Frankly speaking every parent wants what is best for the Kid, and we tend to want the Kids to reach higher than our accomplishments.... That is in every Parent. However when that Parent is in a significant position like that of Makamba or JK that is when it postures a problem… The majority in the nation sees it as a problem; yet the immediate ones with the leaders in question are endlessly smiling at them…. Whether they are plastic smiles or genuine… it does not matter for at the end they (people in power) get what they want! What remains is hope that those offspring's turn out to be better than their parents…. Of coz it is too late to hope for that in sons such as Riz1.

Wazi kabisa mkuu wangu...salute sir !!.i hope you are the real Edwin Mtei...our respected first BOT Governor....during your public service times things were far better than now...in those days at least there was discipline in the public service...because leaders were really patriotic to their motherland TZ....Coming back to your point...yes...the new constitution should provide a clear pathway to how public servants are chosen to public office (at all levels)......this is one area to be dealt with very seriously......this should also target areas like ..the parliament speaker...the chief justice...etc etc....these people should be elected through vetting and merit.....Otherwise..this country will always be led by hopeless leaders....This dangerous trend in our Public Service can best be prevented by the new Constitution we are about to write, to ensure that there will be an independent neutral Public Service Commission which will have powers to appoint all public servants. Its membership should be spelt out in the Constitution as well as its powers.
For example, the President will be required to appoint all his Ministers and other assistants from a group of persons vetted and approved by the Public Service Commission. The Commission will have powers to prescribe qualifications for posts in the public service etc etc.
Wewe unaacha kwenda shule unashabikia Magamba, Nepotism haitakupitia. Mtafute Sioi akutafsirie.Badilisha lugha au kama kuna member kaelewa anitafsirie tafadhari
