JOB ADVERTISEMENT: Extension Officers (2)

CARITAS Iringa Development and Social Services (CIDSS) is a church-based Organization that was started by the Catholic Diocese of Iringa in 1971, with the aim of rendering humanitarian services to the poor, especially food aid to the disabled, old-aged, widows, orphans, who were not able to care for themselves.

In 1994 CIDSS changed its view from pure relief aid to capacity building, training and encouraging communities to start self-help projects in order to promote their own development and improve the living conditions in the long run. Thus CIDSS advocates for social and economic change, to improve the living conditions and self-sufficiency especially among the poor and marginalized population.

Till to date people continue with the small development groups, working micro projects of agriculture and animal husbandry, income generating activities, saving and credit schemes, etc. CIDSS operations expand following the needs and challenges that groups and communities face.
