MIKOPO FINANCE LIMITED is a registered rapidly expanding Tanzanian based lending institution micro finance that offers short and long term business loans aimed to foster businesses that are facing financial constraints.Mikopo Finance Ltd is recruiting for the positions of Credit supervisor-solidarity loan product and credit officers-government salary loan product


POSITION: CREDIT SUPERVISOR-SOLIDARITY LOAN -1 POST
REPORT TO: CREDIT MANAGER
Length and Location: Full time, Dar es Salaam.

BASIC FUNCTION

Credit Officer will be responsible to evaluate and recommend facility within discretion limit applications so as to increase the lending portfolio of MFL

Major Areas of Responsibility:
I. Supervise and mentor VB lending staff.


  • Monitor and assess the quality of work by the Solidarity loan staff.
  • Train, coach and mentor loan staff on new and existing procedures and policies.
  • Plan and conduct performance appraisals and counseling for Solidarity loan staff
  • Hold weekly meetings with your team and manage their time schedules and arrears follow ups
  • Verify weekly reports of the loan officers in your team
  • Surprise visits to groups of the loan officers in the team to verify compliance to MFL policies and procedures

II. Assess, review and approve loans as per policy.


  • Visit and evaluate Groups before inauguration / capitalization to ensure that the group is in compliance and that all internal arrears have been solved
  • Check loan applications against policies and procedures on loan increase; assure adherence.




III. Ensure individual loan officers meet client targets.


  • Developing and executing plans that will allow MFL achieve their targets and implement strategies set by the institution.
  • Review market conditions and recommend changes to the products, process and procedures.


  • Regularly meet with the loan officer’s team to identify and propose solutions to issues that may affect meeting of targets.
  • Meet with clients to identify their needs, demands and satisfaction with MFL Products and services.
  • Organize Credit sensitization seminars and information dissemination for existing and potential borrowers.

IV. Maintain a quality portfolio for MFL as per set targets.


  • Develop and implement action plans for maintaining the PAR as per set targets.
  • Organize delinquency review meetings and follow up action.
  • Manage default cases with external debt collectors as required.

V. Custodian of loan securities and ensure the loan officers maintain proper loan documentation.


  • Supervise recording and filing of all loan security documents.
  • Maintain a well functioning filing system at MFL for all loan documents.
  • Ensure safe custody and retrieval of all loan documents.


  1. Analyze, compile and submit reports as per reporting standards.

▪ Participate in preparing Branch Performance report
▪ Prepare end of month report this include client number, financial status, fin track and fraud report
▪ Compile weekly report this includes group repayment performance and narrative report on the activities done in the week.


  1. Budget

▪ Monitor the team expense to be within the MFL budget
▪ Check and approve team request
▪ Participate in MFL Budget Preparation.

IX. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisors in accordance with the policies and procedures of Mikopo Finance Limited



PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS:


  • University degree from a recognized institution preferably in a business oriented field.

  • English and local language of the operational area.

  • At least 2 years credit work experience in a reputable micro finance institution or commercial bank, preferably as a Village Bank loan officer.

  • A sound knowledge of micro finance, principles, and practices of banking.
  • Credit analytical skills
  • Sales and marketing skills.
  • Strong public speaking skills

  • Good leadership, well-developed ability to manage, coach, mentor and motivate staff.
  • Excellent self-management skills, ability to work under time and tasks pressure.
  • Excellent communication and management skills.
  • Team building skills.

  • Good analytical and observation skills.
  • High sense of responsibility.

POSITION: CREDIT OFFICER-WORKERS SALARY LOAN-2 POSTS
REPORT TO: CREDIT SUPERVISOR
Length and Location: Full time, Dar es Salaam.

Job Duties and Tasks

  1. Approve loans within specified limits, and refer loan applications outside those limits to management for approval.
  2. Meet with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the process.
  3. Analyze applicant’s financial status, credit and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
  4. Explain to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are available as well as the terms of those services.
  5. Obtain and compile copies of loan applicant’s credit histories, corporate financial statements and other financial information’s.
  6. Review and update credit and loan files
  7. Marketing the product to clients to increase customer base and expand portfolio.
  8. Doing any other duties as assigned by the management
