Barclays Africa acquired major shares (54 percentage) of ABSA bank. Absa is a south African bank which owns major shares of NBC, in other words NBC was privatised to ABSA. Of recent Barclays decided to join forces with ABSA to run Africa. One of the strategy i guess is to reorganise absa into barclays' system (this might includes employee restructuring).
