NASA leader Raila however remained adamant that the swearing in ceremony was on , and he was willing to be charged with treason.
"I am ready, let them charge me with treason,” Raila had told the envoys, Friday.
The planned swearing in of Raila Odinga, which was announced on November 28 during Uhuru Kenyatta’s inauguration, seems to be on course as opoosition has already tabled a detailed programme for the event.
Invites have also been sent out for the controversial event.
On whether he was willing to call off the swearing in plans, Raila reportedly said he was only willing to shelf the inauguration agenda if President Uhuru Kenyatta reached out to him personally.
In the meantime, Attorney General Githu Muigai has sent out a dire warning to NASA that holding a swearing in would ultimately constitute to treason – a crime which is punishable by death.
NASA have however brushed off the warning through Senior counsel James Orengo who insists Raila’s inauguration was fully within the vicinity of the Kenyan constitution.
