In an androcentric world we dwell in, it is a real sweat for women to climb up the ladder and become an epitome of success. One such leading woman is Tulsi Gabbard.

She is from the exotic state of Hawaii, an incumbent member of the US Congress. So what makes this woman so acclaimed? Well to begin with to her credit Tulsi holds the honor of being the youngest person ever to get elected for Hawaii's State legislature in the year 2002 just at the age of 21.She decided to decline to go for a second term and voluntarily served with the 29th Brigade in Iraq, volunteering for a 12 month military combat tour.

Now serving her second term as a Democrat, she is the first Hindu member as well as the first American Samoan to be elected for the United States Congress, which is without a doubt a milestone for a female politician in a country which is yet to witness its first female President.

Tulsi also co-founded a non-profit organization by the name of Healthy Hawai'i Coalition striving to teach children to take care of themselves as well the environment.

If you explore her impressive portfolio, you find out that she was the very first female graduate at Fort McClellan's Officer Candidate School in Alabama, and also the first female to receive an appreciation award from the Kuwaiti military.

In addition, to that she also received Meritorious Service Medal while participating in operation Iraqi freedom. Currently she juggles the homeland security, armed forces and foreign affairs committee.

The list of Tulsi's purple patches goes on and on as she holds the honor of becoming the first female combat veteran along with Tammy Duckworth and also is the company commander of the Hawaii National guards.

She is a quintessence for not only women but politicians, and ministers in general that how indispensable it is to go out and work in the field to have a better grasp of issues which looms over a nation like Tulsi the who now serves as Vice Chairman of Democratic National committee in the US Congress, serves with the troops in the middle east to get a better understanding of the dynamics of the America's wars.

And also highlights the paramount importance of developing civil-military coordination without a bottleneck, which has been much needed in our country especially. Tulsi Gabbard got hitched a few weeks ago to Abraham Williams, who is a cinematographer from Honolulu.

Interestingly Tulsi has a deep love and flair for surfing which sort of led to a proposal from Williams. Tulsi is indeed a well rounded personality.
