The fugitive prison warder Anguyo Moses, who had been on the run following the deadly shooting at Kiboga Government Prison, has been arrested in a joint security operation in Aru Town in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

According to a statement from the Uganda Prisons Service, the suspect was apprehended by joint security teams and later brought back to Uganda. He is currently being held at Kiboga Central Police Station and is expected to be produced in court to face charges related to the killings.

The statement, issued by Frank Baine Mayanja, the Senior Commissioner of Prisons and spokesperson of the Uganda Prisons Service, also warned that the arrest should serve as a warning to anyone intending to commit crime that they will eventually be brought to justice.

The arrest brings a significant development in the investigation into the Kiboga prison shooting that left at least three dead people dead and had led to a nationwide manhunt for the suspect.
