Arming D Maina with such weapons is like gifting a pig with valuable jewels...it will trumple on em.Many are not aware but the Kenya police has been undergoing a massive upgrade over of last two years. The Kenya police is getting rid of the G3 rifles and replacing them with CZ Scorpion airsoft rifles and FN scar rifles
The Belgian-made FN SCAR rifles will no longer be a preserve of the special forces units in the KDF. GOK has procured thousands of these guns for the Administration police special warfare unit and the Recce Unit along with other special units in the paramilitary wing of the police.
In the pipeline includes ,40 border patrol bases along the Kenya somalia border, where police from the border patrol unit (Administration police) will be equipped with Bastion Armoured personnel carriers(Currently only KDF use these), night vision goggles, hand launched drones (Border surveillance) and technology to detect movement of people from 15 km away.
GOK has already procured 50,000 CZ Scorpion and FN SCAR rifles for the more than 120,000 police officers.
Find below pictures of the rifles.

I share your concern, that is why the scheme of service for police officers was changed. You can not become an inspector of police without a university degree.Arming D Maina with such weapons is like gifting a pig with valuable jewels...it will trumple on em.

My biggest concern is the militarization of the police.Let us be honest, the police special units are not police officers anymore but actually really highly trained elite soldiers capable of applying their skills within our borders. As long as their mission remains fighting terrorists and hardcore criminals I am comfortable with their existence, they should never be used to undertake civilian duties like enforcement of court orders as it happens in america now.Arming D Maina with such weapons is like gifting a pig with valuable jewels...it will trumple on em.
Did i choose the wrong career? Nowadays being in the disciplined forces seems to be very lucrative. Sio kama kitambo they were complaining about low pay and lack of equipment. One good thing Uhuru has done is to equip these forces. Police have health insurance. Their pay is also not bad. He leased thousands of police vehicles for them. Things are good. Many are not aware but the Kenya police has been undergoing a massive upgrade over of last two years. I feel you bro!! They now have better salary packages and on top of that they access loans very easily. I know of several estate courts in Utawala and Kamulu that are called "police line" and several others built by military personnel.Did i choose the wrong career?
