REPOA is am independent policy research institution, registered under the laws of Tanzania since 1994. REPOA undertakes and facilitates strategic research; and facilitate and stimulate the utilization of research finding in policy dialogue, in development of policies and in the design of development interventions. In addition, REPOA supports capacity building of the intellectual resources, which include researches and researches users.
In collaboration with CMI, REPOA is implementing a three-years (2016-19) research project funded by the Norwegian Embassy in Tanzania titled “Impact evaluation of local content interventions in Tanzania” The aim of the project is to conduct a rigorous impact evaluation of promising local content intervention in Tanzania. One candidate for such as assessment is skills enhancement of workers to fit with the new opportunities in the oil and gas sector. Another candidate that could be analyzed is a program to stimulate agribusiness to serve the growing demand for high-quality food restaurant and catering market related to the oil and gas industry.
As part of capacity building, REPOA is currently seeking a junior researcher with an interest in assessing impacts of interventions. The right candidates is interested in learning about research methodologies in general and in how to assess impacts of interventions in particular.
Opportunity Summary:
The purpose of this opportunity is to offer a Tanzanian Junior Researcher to work with and learn from a team of REPA and CMI researchers during the above mentioned impact evaluation. The right candidate must be strong in quantitative analysis, statistics or economics or other relevant field and has completed a master’s degree from a reputable university. Enrollment in PhD with completed coursework and field work experience in assessing project or interventions would be an advantage.
Required Qualifications:
Completed master in social science at a reputable university. Those enrolled in a PhD programme must submit a proof of complete coursework.
