- The Guardian reports that Bezos' phone was hacked in May last year
- A forensic examination of it showed a video file had come from Mohammed Bin Salman's personal phone number, their sources claim
- It was apparently a malicious file and was used to extract a large amount of data from the Amazon founder's phone within hours
- The hack was discovered as Bezos' phone was poured over following the revelation of his affair with Lauren Sanchez, his investigators say
- It occurred five months before the murder of Jamal Khashoggi at the hands of the Saudi regime
- Bezos would not comment on the claims and Saudi Arabia has denied hacking his phone in the past when a member of his team made the same allegation
The Guardian reported on Tuesday that the Amazon billionaire received a message from Mohammed Bin Salman's personal phone number which contained a malicious file.
According to forensic examination of the phone afterwards, the message was sent on May 1, 2018. Within hours, a large amount of data from Bezos' phone was extracted. There is no detail of what kind of data was taken.
At the time, Bezos and bin Salman had been exchanging friendly messages.

The Guardian reported on Tuesday that Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos received a message from Mohammed Bin Salman's personal phone number which contained a malicious file
It was five months before Jamal Khashoggi - a columnist for Bezos' newspaper, The Washington Post - was murdered by the Saudi Arabian regime.
They have denied wrongdoing and say Khashoggi's murder was an accident that several people are now in jail for.
The trial was secretive and heavily criticized as a 'sham'.
According to The Guardian's sources, Agnès Callamard, the UN special rapporteur who investigates extrajudicial killings, has been made aware of the apparent hack by Saudi Arabia.
Investigators there are now considering a formal approach to Saudi Arabia to ask for an explanation, their unnamed sources say.
Saudi Arabia previously denied hacking Bezos' phone after Bezos' private investigator, Gavin de Becker, made the claim in March.
