Whatsapp has not yet provided a means to clear recent emojis.
But if you are facing a problem of un wanted emojis on a recent tab, just simply do the following:
Go to emoji tab; select 35 different emojis which you consider useful and decent; send them to your another whatsapp number, or to a friend; delete the msg for everyone.
The recent emojis will be replaced.
N.B: Recent emojis may only be cleared by replacement.
Otherwise you will have to root your device.
