The Contracting firm is looking for qualified personel to fill the following vacancies in its technical team.

1.Structural Engineer(1post)

Qualifications

Tasks may vary depending on the structure being worked on and size of the team, but typically include:

• Ability of analysing configurations of the basic structural components of a building or other structure;
• Ability in calculating the pressures, stresses and strains that each component, such as a beam or lintel, will experience from other parts of the structure due to human use or environmental pressures such as weather or earthquakes;
• Abe to consider the strength of various materials, e.g. timber, concrete, steel and brick, to see how their inclusion may necessitate a change of structural design;
• Able to liaise with other designers, including architects, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction;
• Able to examine structures at risk of collapse and advising how to improve their structural integrity, such as recommending removal or repair of defective parts or rebuilding the entire structure;
• Ability in making drawings, specifications and computer models of structures for building contractors;
• Able to undertake investigation of ground conditions and analysing results of site tests, such as soil samples;
• liaising with construction contractors to ensure that newly erected buildings are structurally sound;
• applying expert knowledge of the forces that act on various structures;
• Ability and knowledge of design softwares computers and computer-aided design (CAD) technology for simulation purposes.
• Must be a graduate or Professional Engineer registered by ERB Tanzania

Civil Engineer (Roadworks)(1 post)

Key duties include:

• Ability in Undertaking technical and feasibility studies including site investigations
• Vast knowledge of Using a range of computer packages for developing detailed designs
• Ability in Undertaking complex and repetitive calculations
• Able to Liaise with clients and a variety of professionals including architects, subcontractors, etc
• Ability in Compiling job specs and supervising tendering procedures
• Able to Resolve design and development problems
• Ability to Manage budgets and project resources
• Ability of preparing and Scheduling material and equipment purchases and delivery
• Able to make sure that projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time.
• Able to work under pressure with minimum supervision
