The former chief of defense forces (CDF), Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala is this morning expected to appear before Parliament’s appointments committee for vetting, following his recent appointment as state minister for works.

The same committee is expected to vet ambassadorial appointees named in a recent reshuffle. However, the Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Gabula’s name is reportedly missing from the list of ambassadors forwarded to Parliament for vetting despite President Museveni’s recent defense of his controversial appointment as ambassador for special duties.

The Ugandan constitution forbids cultural leaders from being given or exercising any administrative, legislative or executive powers of government or local government.
