📍 Tigray Commander Reportedly Surrenders. Ethiopian government sources say Major General Yohannes Weldegiyorgis, known as John Medid, surrendered near Simret Kebelle in Rama district. A total of 25 Tigray fighters reportedly surrendered, including a colonel, six junior officers and 18 staff members. The immediate circumstances that led to his surrender is not yet clear. Ethiopian airforce is preparing to send a helicopter to bring the general to Addis Ababa.
📍Fano forces say their operations around Kimir Dingay led to the release of 250 detainees and the seizure of hundreds of weapons. They also said ruling party structures have collapsed in several districts and they are setting up their own.
📍 Moyale Conflict Enters Sixth Day. Fighting has reportedly spread to seven districts. Ethiopian Ambassador Suleiman Dedefo blamed the unrest on an alleged plot involving three TPLF spies who entered from Kenya. The accusation has drawn huge backlash and scepticism from observers, who say it shifts responsibility away from those involved in the ongoing conflict.
