Update on the war between Ethiopia and Eritrea.
The TPLF rebel forces claim that their goal goes beyond liberating Tigray. Pay attention to this.
They announce that they want to destroy and dismantle the Prosperity Party, which governs in Ethiopia, arguing that Tigray and other regions will remain at risk as long as the party stays in power.
Ethiopian forces are said to have withdrawn from Rama toward Adwa. Meanwhile, it is reported that Tigray forces have captured Hagere Selam, about 50 km east of Mekelle, the Tigrayan capital.
The U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has defended the decision to lift sanctions on Eritrea, saying it has no connection to the current tensions between Ethiopia and Eritrea.
Ethnic violence and bombings continue in localities near the border. Hundreds dead while local authorities are struggling to contain the violence.
Tomorrow, an interview with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed about the current conflict situation will be broadcast on television.
