Munnaris one of the most famous hill stations in Kerala.Munnar holidays are famous among nature lovers and offer a lot of interesting things forthe tourists.


Oneof the famous tourist places in Munnar is the Eravikulam NationalPark. It is located in the Idukki district and lies on the borders ofKerala and Tamilnadu. It was established to preserve the NilgiriTahr, which is a rare species of wild goats. The Nilgiri Tahr is onlyfound in the south of the Himalayas. There are also a number of sholaforests and grasses in the park.


Accordingto history, this region was owned by Rajamalai and Eravikulam duringthe British rule. It was then passed on to Kannan Devan Hills for teaplantation. It was later declared as a sanctuary in 1975 and upgradedas a national park in 1978. The famous animals that are spotted hereare elephant, Nilgiri Langur, Nilgiri Marten, small clawed otter,tigers, leopards and Nilgiri wood pigeon.


Anamudiis a famous trekking place and has enough facilities arranged for thetourists. Anamudi peak is the pride of the Eravikulam National Parkand is situated in its interior. The national park is at a peak of2695 m. The hill houses a number of endangered animals and variouskinds of flora and fauna thus making it a very interesting place foranimal lovers. The dense forests in the Anamudi peak make it anatural habitat for many animals. The animals found here are Nilgirilanguars, leopards, tigers and macaques.
