Real estate mogul Donald Trump is going a step further in his presidential machinations for 2016 than he did in 2012.
The New Hampshire Union-Leader and local TV station WMUR reported that Trump planned to announce the formation of a presidential exploratory committee on Wednesday, a day before visiting the first-in-the-nation primary state.
"I am the only one who can make America truly great again!" Trump said in a statement obtained by CNBC.
Last month, Trump began hiring consultants who could serve on a potential presidential campaign. The reality TV star also publicly toyed with a presidential run in 2012, but he didn't take as concrete of a step as forming an exploratory committee during that cycle.

Donald Trump is, once again, saying he's very serious about running for president and Democrats have a simple response: everything is awesome.
In response to Trump's statement on Wednesday that he's planning on forming a presidential exploratory committee, DNC National Press Secretary Holly Shulman released a short statement that said "everything is awesome" with a link to the song in The Lego Movie:
Trump has repeatedly toyed with running for president before bowing out. He strongly floated running for president in 2012 as a Republican candidate before opting against it. He also dipped his toe into running in 2000, as an Independent candidate. Bloomberg Politics noted that in 2014, Trump also flirted with a possible gubernatorial run. That lasted three months before Trump opted against it.
