Still in don't see Thika town economic activities be above Dodoma with all livestock, agricultural, construction n mining activities! Aside service provision think of all tertiary education institutions plus medical plus governmental centers! Someone talks of Thika highway as evidence of superior infrastructure but the 40 km connects Thika n Nairobi. May be if the whole 40 km long highway was in Thika.It's unfair to compare these 2 towns.
Thika is an Industrial town in the outskirts of Nairobi, it has over 120 factories..
Dodoma is the seat of the TZ govt..
Dodoma has higher population but Thika has a bigger economic output.
Thika has some of the biggest companies in East Africa.. Del Monte, Bidco, and other angro-processing factories...Still in don't see Thika town economic activities be above Dodoma with all livestock, agricultural, construction n mining activities! Still u can't compare to the capital city that so far over 200,000 civil servants have relocated to. A ring highway soon to kick off! SGR to connect the city U/C while the current airport being expanded new Msalato Airport is to kick off in 2019. Not to forget about new stedium. All that is money aside the booming real estate sector at the moment. Even tramline is being planned! Do u know how many embassies r current U/C? N how many r being planned? Aside investment in winery under Tanzania distillers, AB InBev have secured a plot to start a construction of largest breweries in the whole of EA region! Mind u government relocation meant all ministries are to move there n that translated to over 20 offices currently U/C!Thika has some of the biggest companies in East Africa..
