Counselor Needed Urgently
Project Zawadi is seeking a Counselor for a student sponsorship program located in Nyamuswa,
Mara Region (near Bunda). The Head Counselor will be responsible for all aspects of the
Education Program including: academic and other support and guidance to sponsored students
from Standard 1 University level including vocational training, acting as a liaison between
sponsoring organization and local school officials, conducting home visits to students and
families, coordinating with other student support resources and personnel, submitting regular
reports on progress and needs of students, coordinating annual purchases of uniforms, textbooks
and other school supplies, tracking academic progress, and overseeing duties of the Assistant
Counselor.
Requirements: A Bachelors degree in Counseling or related field or comparable work
experience. Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in both English and Swahili
as well as via email, text and telephone.
The Counselor will report to the Executive Director of Zinduka Development Initiatives Forum,
a local development NGO overseeing Project Zawadis education program in Nyamuswa. For
