Calm down, Kenyans; Tanzania is flying!

You should resolve your ethnicity problems for President Obama to come to Kenya, save for your top leaders to come clean before the ICC. I hope you got the message when President Obama responded to a question posed from Kenya.

Responding to a question from Kenya, President Obama said, "But what's also true, I won't deny, is that Kenya just had an election. I was very proud to see the restraint in which the election was held. We did not see a repeat of the violence that we saw in the last election. But with a new administration that's also having to manage some of the international issues around the ICC, I did not think it was the optimal time for me to visit".

By the way, Tanzania - USA relationship started way back from Mwl JK Nyerere and JF Kennedy era (more than 50 years ago).

Tanzania in earnest do have a thing to celebrate; this ain't boot licking. As a Kenyan i wish u well, utilize the resource afforded well, i hope they are grants and not loans or resource thuggery.

If Obama did set foot in Kenya, Kenyans would equally be elated....we did a holiday on his first election just to show him love. His second election was closely followed too though no holiday. Guess fate wasn't on our side maybe.....

Cost of business in Kenya vis a vis the rest of the region will double if sth is not done asap esp on our electricity tarriffs, plus the soon to be introduced VAT bill remains to be bad news. I wont pretend to smile; there's nothing to smile about. Uhuru needs a miracle to take off our economy.....seems strikes planned for this year alone will slow him to a meager 3% GDP growth. Considering the first half nothing considerable happened, elections/strikes, its a plus if he surpases that.

Kabaridi and mwathai, please come in for a reality check. Are u confident with our market trends, (NSE), and how it is responding? Speculative anxiety is kinda keeping investors at bay.....

Me thinks the Kenyan Market is effectively under an observe and assess phase for the coming two weeks or so.

Something i have come to note from Kenyans, esp from a certain political affiliation, is that they will grudgingly rush for your jugular if u state the obvious. Try avoiding the stress.....read em comments n ignore.

Weren't they the other day singing China, Russia and the BRICS till their deal got sour? (isn't that still boot licking), In short; this political divide acts as a virus. IT HAS A GOAL; to infect common sense till its acceptable through SPINS.

It pains them that Obama chose not to set foot in Kenya, not for grants or loans but business opportunities such a visit brings forth. There's a term we call, Govt to Govt agreements,Tanzania got two in a go... Good for them.
I conclude by saying, in terms of Tanzania's strategic importance to the two nations, Kenya comes second.....i don't know if they will hate China too, yet to be seen....

Come on good people, +255 and +254 are all relatives, no need to fight because of Obama visit in Tanzania. He is an American with Kenya roots!. That is the truth which will stand forever. His father is in Kenya (buried in Kenya) and is a Kenyan!.

We, East Africans need to build our region for our own people, no one else will! Strong ties and relationship between the partner states is highly needed!. Obama visit should not be a big deal at all!

Bro. I have no regrets of Obama not stepping foot in kenya. very few critical questions have to be asked concerning Obama's presidency. Obama is the first US president out of 44 that has legized same-sex marriages in California. guess what? He is black? That is the best of what the continent of Africa has to offer the world# a black president that advocates for homosexuality!

another view..He may deny being Kenyan and making the reference of his origin a EA, but we have nothing to do with such views ourselves. I have to say sorry to the world what Africa has offered
