Three senior Fifa officials who will vote on the 2018 and 2022 World Cup bids took bribes in the 1990s, according to the BBC's Panorama.
Nicolas Leoz, Issa Hayatou and Ricardo Teixeira took the money from a sport marketing firm awarded lucrative World Cup rights, the programme alleges.

What is ironic for me in this story is the enormous disparity of the amount offered to Africa's Hayatou (12,900 GBP) compared to the others (Leoz 83,000 GBP and Teixeira 6mil GBP). A bribe is a bribe, but I presume the offer is decided upon some factors... Was Hayatou a "low-hanging fruit", or his influence was diminutive compared to the others?
Kinda reminds me of the colonial times when our grandfathers were won over by beads and shiny baubles...
