serikali imejenga dam mpya kugenerate umeme mwingi..hawa juakali na megawatt hizo ndogo za nini? watamuuzia nani? sijaona wawakilishi wa TANESCO hapo au wizara ya nishati..unaanza uwekezaji bila kuwa na PPA? kwa nini wasione need ya kutengeneza nishati ya kupikia? hata hao ubalozi wmeshindwa kuona kwa hiyo scale wanayoanza nayo umeme wao utakuwa na gharama za juu? biashara za udalali hizi..kwa hiyo wmewafuata siemens ndio wafue umeme..?

President Museveni Meets Delegates From Tanzania, Discuss Cooperation In The Energy Sector​

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today met a group of delegates from Tanzania at State House Entebbe.

During the meeting, the President and the visiting delegation discussed future cooperation in the area of Energy between Uganda and Tanzania.

The energy engagement mainly centered around the power line from Mutukula to Mwanza which they both expressed optimism that it will boost the development of the two countries.

President Museveni also okayed the proposal from the delegates to go ahead and develop the solar generation plant of 20 megawatts in Nwoya district near Olwiyo substation in Northern Uganda.


“There, we shall no longer have issues of electricity in that area,” he added. The delegates in attendance were Mr. Abdul Halim Hafidah Ameir, Mr. Abdallah Khamis Khaliki, Mr. Michael Songore Raphael Mjinja and Mr. George Nkya.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentamu.

Siemens invest in natural gas in Tanzania​

Global powerhouse, Siemens is set to invest in power production in Tanzania as it seeks to boost the goals of the country as far as energy is concerned. The German conglomerate has been a great pillar in the field of energy, improving Tanzania’s neighbor Uganda on the same.

Tanzania is set to receive a boosting investment from the the largest industrial manufacturing company in Europe, putting three-quarter of its efforts in the natural gas. The two parties hope to bring a total of 1,000 megawatts, where the country will use 800 from natural gas.

Natural resources have revolutionized the industry, edging out other alternatives of power source. Siemens is coming as a 100% financier in the project, according to reports. Siemens is ready for the task having recorded a success of other projects it has done in other countries.

Power supply system is an important aspect in any economy to set factories and companies up and running effectively and efficiently. The South Africa firm understands the challenges faced in the field, with extensive and reliable power supply being a major barrier in the growth of businesses.

The energy sector drives the economy and more investment will be needed for Tanzania to have a competitive economy. It is a prerequisite for the industrialization drive in the near future. Siemens is believed to be involved with other engineering projects in the country.

Long-term energy ambitions in Uganda have been aided by the firm, making positive steps with the Ugandan government. Electricity in Uganda, like other countries has hampered growth and development making other investors shy off from establishing major factories, especially in the rural areas.

The opportunity will bring in employment chances as well to the rapidly growing population, creating sustainable streams of revenue, better technology and encourage innovation at national level

Tanzania President Inaugurates Largest Optic Fiber Production Plant in East Africa

The President of Tanzania Hon. Samia Suluhu Hassan launched on 03rd December 2021 the Raddy Fiber Manufacturing Ltd Factory located in the Mkuranga District some 50 km south of Dar es Salaam. The factory has the capacity to produce up to 24,000 kilometers of optic fiber per year and is expected to provide about 670 jobs making it the third-largest in Africa and the first in East and Central Africa
