Purchase Dish from Dar: KSh.8,000
Transport Dish from Dar to Nrbi: KSh.10,000
Metal Fabrication costs (materials, bolts, nuts and Welder labour) plus transporting within 15Km from Nairobi: Sh.22000
Hiring extra hands to help fix dish stand, hold 100Kg final structure; and other manual work: Sh.3000;
Purchase LNBs (1 Inverto, 3 Starlife); cables; connectors; horse-clips; other accessories: Sh.4000
Total cost will be not less than Sh.40,000;
Might spend more if you hire a Jamii-Forum member to assist in Tracking: [Cost to be negotiated];

Well, depends on your location. Our installation was done at Nairobi. North of Equator, a 90Cm will work satisfactorily. Also, if you get the focal point right for the 240Cm, it will pull in much more signal than the 180Cm Prime Focus. 13 months ago, I installed a 180Cm PF plus star-gold Fuji in Rongai (15Km south of Nairobi) for 7E and still could not get stable signal for the three weak TPs: 11534 V 30000; 11575 V 30000; 11617 V 30000. Even the discoveries were scratching. Also, note that around December, reception of the 7E European beam is stronger around Nairobi compared to May-August period.

Considering all the math looking for focal point and time used in the entire project it's the thrill of achievement which drives someone not really the channels available to watch. hVut at about 40,000 KES its a project worth trying.

Hi,i think you are right,it seems capturing 7E depends with your location.i am at Kitengela just past Athi River and i am using a 6ft prime focus dish and srt 4922.am getting both discoveries at signal 59% (WITH CLEAR SKIES) E! SHOWING AT 62%.animal planet also showing at 58%. all the best guys.
Am also not sure about this one wait till i get mine then i can figure out where the problem is.Even though i am further North,my 130 cm is giving me better signal so a dish with four times the surface area can do better in Nairobi.Who knows how they make this fiber material,maybe the problem is in the material itself.

MTV's Arabic content is now available exclusively on MTV LIVE HD channel on OSN channel 300.
The rest of the other fta channels on frequency 11977 are there courtesy of OSN as the transponder is rented out to OSN pay tv network.
