African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Im wondering whether it is possible to nail birds beyond 90°e in kenya i.e 160° e. I am curious
Hi Ijumuso and the entire house. the answer for 160e is NO. kenya is approximately 36e. from this point, the eastern Horizon is 90 degrees to the east of 36e. This brings us to 126e(36+90). Hence, the eastern horizon is roughly on 126e. Depending on your location and topography, it is likely possible to nail sats up to and around 126e. Beyold this point, its possibly impossible in respect to kenya. Remember this will also depend on the foot print.

Now, that's the spirit my brother. :A S thumbs_up:I recall back in the day I had an issue with my kbc signal on nss12 and they didn't seem to have any idea what fta was when I talked to them. I'm happy that your initiative spurred them to begin to think about it and hopefully bring the idea to fruition.:clap2:

Another great article.

I was in touch with the Digital Kenya Migration authorithy and dropped an email asking why they are not recommending digital migration via satellite.
This was the reply.

Dear techdee

Hope this email finds you well.
Broadcasting can be done on different platforms , Satellite , Cable and Terrestrial .
If you have a satellite u are on digital via satellite . The country is currently moving digital on the Terrestrial platform (using an ariel).

Hosting on satellite is an expensive affair , broadcasters go with the satellite provider that providers the best value for money . It might be difficult for them to be on one satellite .

standing ovation.

hi, I'm in nakuru, I'm so new to this so kindly guide me, do I need to change e dish location n stuff n how much is the decoder?, also id love to watch local n tz channels, saidia

Well, Nakuru you will need at least a 120cm Dish for stable signal reception, your dish needs to be facing west..almost vertical so if your location towards west is not blocked by trees, buildings etc , leave the dish in its location, the SRT 4922 is 6500 shillings in Nairobi. If you wish to view Tanzanian Channels.the Channels are on the DSTV position so you need not change your Dish, Just get the SRT 4922 connect and scan the transponder or scan the whole sat =Eutelsat 36A for FTA channels.. The information is here>> https://www.jamiiforums.com/tech-ga...ellite-world-and-sat-gear-58.html#post6804058 and if you need to see what channels are on offer, check out Eutelsat 36A (36.0°E) - All transmissions - frequencies - KingOfSat on the transponder 12275H for what is available.

cheers.

Good afternoon kassych

Tanzanian channels are no longer on eutelsat 36 because TING moved from 36 to amos 5 @17 degree. some of those channels, the likes of tbc, ubc star are still free on amos 5.

Thanks regiment jey; Well Kimyazo, take note of that change and effect the necessary adjustments to your Dish. You can use Satellite Finder / Dish Alignment Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com to fine tune your set up.. Type in Your Location, choose a satellite like Amos 5 and you will see the general direction your dish should be pointing..the Elevation,Azimuth and LNB skew numbers will be at the bottom of the image once you click GO.

where can i get srt for 6,500 because riwara are selling for 7,500.

Tanzanian channels have since migrated from @36e(Ting). Actually all of them are now hosted @7e (Azam package) but this is a pay tv platform.
