Position Description: Accountant
Area: dar es Salaam
REPORTING AUTHORITY
Reports to: General Manager
MFL is a newly registered limited liability company incorporated in 2011. One of MFLs objective is to provide loans, particularly to the small-scale entrepreneurs, in the informal sector of the economy, and who are generally left out of the main stream economy and cannot access formalized credit facilities from banking institutions due to various reasons.
POSITION SCOPE
Accountant is the professional expected to lead MFL to smooth functioning. Through budget and control makes it possible for the institution to have enough money to run activities, the shareholders to profit from their investment and the microfinance services to grow and make profit. He/She ensures that MFL services guarantee companys liquidity and forte growth.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As an over-all in charge of the section that deals with banking and budget, he/she develops action Plan for the section to ensure s the existence of well-known timetable for submission of accounts statement
in time.
Undertakes on the job-training for subordinates under him
Submit monthly reports of expenditure and commitment to vote-holders to keep them abreast of their financial state affairs.
Brings to the attention of the Finance any anomaly.
Prepare statement of expenditure for Board of Directors and other statutory meetings.
Ensures that customers passbooks and ledgers are in balance before the close of any business day.
Analyses cash movements and recommends amounts of cash float to be maintained in branches and main office before transferring to the recommended bankers, petty cash amounts recommended for the office operation.
Desired Experience : one year of experience and above as an Accountant in any reputable organization.
Desired Qualifications : Bachelor degree in Accountant/Finance
