At least 26 people were reportedly killed on Monday night in a grisly road accident at Kambuu along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
According to Police reports, several other passengers were seriously injured in the accident.
Kibwezi Police boss Leonard Kimaiyo confirmed the incident stating that it was a head-on collision between a bus and a truck.
“It was a very bad head-on collision accident,” Kimaiyo stated.
The traffic headquarters also confirmed the incident stating that the accident occurred when a bus heading to Mombasa tried to overtake several vehicles before colliding with the oncoming truck.
