Georgia rapper Young Jeezy was arrested early this morning in Atlanta for driving under the influence and speeding. According to TMZ, the rapper (real name Jay Jenkins) was stopped for speeding and was arrested on a slew of charges, including DUI, reckless driving, speeding, having no tags or proof of insurance and driving with an open container. Jeezy was released this morning on bail and is due back in court on July 17th. A source close to Jeezy told TMZ the rapper had just taken his brand new white corvette to the car wash and the temporary plates had fallen off which lead to his being pulled over. The source added that Jeezy claims the open container belonged to another passenger. In related news, Jeezy was recently implicated in the Black Mafia Family (BMF) cocaine conspiracy according to Creative Loafing. A witness in the case testified that Jeezy received kilos of cocaine from BMF. No charges have resulted from these claims and it is uncertain if any will.
