The Lesson Africa can learn from China!

Fikiraduni,
I do not know how to do it but it is one of the things that needs to be done. We need to produce even essentials ambazo mpaka leo tunanunua kutoka Kenya. Tanzania is a big market. With good roads mtu anaweza kuweka kiwanda chake popote tu. Kwa hiyo orodha ni ndefu. I am heartened kwamba serikali inashughulikia infrastructure za barabara. With good all weather roads utaona maisha ya Watanzania yakibadilika polepole.

Kyoma,

Sio wewe nakutana sana na Jasusi. Nime ku mention specifically kwasababu sijawahi kusikia jina hilo huko nyuma na kwenye forum nyingine. Kyoma huko siji napita tu ndugu yangu, unataka simu yangu iibiwe?!:) Halafu kwanini Ukiwa unatoka Dar kwenda mikoani Upande wa kulia umeendela ki majengo na ki infrastructure kuliko upande wa kushoto?

Wakulima can't afford life kusubiri mavuno ya mwaka mzima kupata malipo ya kazi ngumu.

Uamuzi upo mikononi mwa hao vingunge aliowataja Mzee ES. Hawa ndio wazee wanaotakiwa kusema enough is enough... huu upuuzi wa kuuza mirathi umefikia mwisho wake.. NO MORE!

Hahaha! Mzee Mkandara hio theory yako hapo juu kali sana :D . Umenifurahisha!
Kusini mwa sehemu ni always relative to the observers point of reference.
Anyways labda hukua serious!

Unajua health system za UK, Australia e.t.c. ziko hatarini ku collapse endapo 3rd world nurses and doctors wataamua kurudi kwao!!

Halafu mbona watu kitu kikiwa kimekaa vibaya wanasema kimekaa kushoto?, Mkandara yupo right.

Mengine yote tupo pamoja.

Mzee Bob,

Leo who has the last lough!

Mzee Es, umesema inawezekana, tuki -sacrifice. Labda mwenzatu una kiji-idea hapa maanake mwenzio hapa sione nje kabisa.... kizaa. Hivi kweli wananchi WABONGO wanaweza kusimama kama wanafunzi wa China walivyofanya mbele ya vifaru na mitutu ya bunduki?...Is this the right time ama JK anaweza kuwa na mabadiliko? nasikia ameanza kupitia mikataba ya madini na ulimsikia Free alivyosema kuhusu TanzaniteOne.

Is it Ujamaa na Kujitegemea or Uzalendo? can the two be combined? on question of capitalism, does it mean that capitalism lacks patriotism?

That is the dillema facing Africa and Third World on chosing economic ideology and foundation for their own countries.

If we use Patriotism to equate success and stable growth of our countries, then capitalism can never win even though socialism has many flaws, but stands higher morally, hence strong element of patriotism with the likes of Nyerere, Nkrumah, Lumumba, Chaves and Castro!

Kamati hiyo hukutana kila mwezi mara moja as a mandatory, wanapokutana tqo top academics are ushered in to brief the committee on trends in ernegy supply, patterns of urbanization or intellectual-property rights, usually the discussions can last until the evening, sasa the thought of the entire kamati kuu sitting down the whole day, kusikiliza academics kwa msaaa na kuyafanyia kazi yaliyosemwa, it is amazing.

Hiii ni sehemu tu ya how China, inavyoongozwa sasa na hata kuweza kuwa one of the powers wa uchumi duniani, ukweli ni kwamba hatuhitaji vyama vingi vya siasa ili kuendelea, na huu wa China ni mfano tosha on the ishu, tunachohitaji ni wananchi committed kwa maendeleo na pia viongozi walio-serious, na ni muhimu kuwa na heshima kwa The Rule of Law, huko China kiongozi akikamatwa kuwa ni mwizi, hupigwa risasi hadharani, hapa Tanzania kama alikuwa waziri wa Nishati, huhamishwa na kuwa waziri wa jumuiya ya Afrika mashariki!

Mungu Aibariki Bongo!

China communists 'falling short'
By Michael Bristow
BBC News, Beijing

Chinese President Hu Jintao has said in a keynote speech that the Communist Party he leads has fallen short of the people's expectations.

Speaking at the start of the party's 17th congress, he also lashed out at officials who were extravagant, wasteful and corrupt.

President Hu's criticism came as he assessed the party's recent performance in front of senior leaders.
The week-long gathering is held every five years to decide future policies.
"While recognising our achievements, we must be well aware that they still fall short of the expectations of the people," said President Hu.
Some of the problems faced by ordinary people relate to employment, housing, social security and education, he said.
He was particularly critical of party leaders who used their position to provide for themselves, a theme President Hu has often spoken about.

[We] will never allow anyone to separate Taiwan from the motherland in any name or by any means
Hu Jintao

"A small number of party cadres are not honest and upright," he told more than 2,200 delegates.
"[Their] extravagance, waste, corruption and other undesirable behaviour are still serious problems with them," he said.

The congress officially started when the country's top leaders filed out on to the podium in Beijing's Great Hall of the People, which was bedecked in red flags.
In an indication of how much sway former President Jiang Zemin still holds, he emerged immediately after President Hu and sat next to him on the podium.

Next to appear were the members of the current politburo standing committee, the inner sanctum of Chinese power.

Some of these men will be staying on with Hu Jintao for the next five years, while others will be retiring.
Mr Hu may use this congress to nominate a possible successor to take over from him in 2012 - and everybody's eyes are currently focused on Li Keqiang, a regional party chief in his early fifties who was in the fourth row of the line-up on the podium.
A military band then played the national anthem before party leaders bowed their heads to remember the party's founding fathers.

HAVE YOUR SAY
This congress is a major event preceding the Beijing Olympics. It will be an opportunity to showcase China's progress
Arun Mehta, Mumbai, India

To polite applause and with a hammer and sickle symbol behind him, President Hu then began his speech.
As well as criticising the party's performance over the previous few years, he also laid out its future plans.
One of the main goals is to build a "moderately prosperous society" by 2020.
Short on specifics
Later on Mr Hu defined that task as quadrupling the country's year 2000 per capita gross domestic product by 2020.
Mr Hu also had a warning for Taiwan, a self-governing island that Beijing considers part of China. The two sides split in 1949.

MAJOR THEMES OF THE CONGRESS
Promoting 'social harmony'
'Scientific development'
Building a 'well-off society'
Consolidation of President Hu's position

He said the forces of "Taiwan independence" were stepping up their efforts to separate the island from China.
"[We] will never allow anyone to separate Taiwan from the motherland in any name or by any means," he warned.
Mr Hu's speech was typical of those delivered by senior Chinese officials at these well-orchestrated gatherings.
It was laced with well-worn official phrases such as "socialism with Chinese characteristics".
It was long, but short on specifics.
For example, Mr Hu promised to "expand socialist democracy" but did not explain exactly what that meant.
On Sunday, Li Dongsheng, the spokesman for the 17th congress, said China would never adopt Western-style democracy.
But one thing appears clear. President Hu has cemented his position at the top of the party hierarchy.
His personal contribution to party theory - scientific development - was placed on a par with contributions from other top leaders.
In the speech it ranked alongside Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory and ex-President Jiang's Three Represents.
Little is known about Hu Jintao beyond the brief, official biography.
But in his closing remarks, he perhaps revealed something of the man he hopes the public see him as. "We must guard against arrogance and rashness, preserve plain living and struggle hard," he said.

China rules out copying Western democracy

NEW: President Hu Jintao promises the strengthening of one-party rule
  • China's Communist Party opens their five-yearly Congress in Beijing
  • Party's elite will put forth a blueprint for reforming political institutions
  • China will not copy Western democratic models, a spokesman said
BEIJING, China (AP) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao opened a major Communist Party congress Monday by promising modest reforms to make government institutions more responsive while strengthening one-party rule.

The congress is a crucial test of strength for Hu after five years in power, especially his ability to maneuver allies -- possibly including a designated successor -- into key positions and assert the primacy of his vision of more balanced development.
"In deepening political restructuring, we must keep to the correct political orientation," Hu said in a speech opening the party's 17th congress.

Hu, who is expected to remain in power for another five years, said government advisory bodies, which include non-party members, should be given a greater role in decision making. He also supported holding more public hearings before laws and regulations are formulated.

He said the party had to pay more attention to taking a scientific outlook on development, a catchphrase for redistributing growth more equally and making more efficient use of energy.

"A relatively comfortable standard of living has been achieved for the people as a whole but the trend of a growing gap in incomes distribution has not been thoroughly reversed," Hu said. "There are still a considerable number of impoverished and low-income people in both urban and rural areas, and it has become more difficult to accommodate the interests of all sides."

On Sunday, congress spokesman Li Dongsheng said senior party members would put forth a blueprint for reforming political institutions, but the steps aimed to strengthen one-party rule and will not copy Western democratic models.

Li told reporters the party has studied and drawn from other country's political systems, along with its own experiences. "But, we will never copy the Western model of a political system," he added.

Li gave few specifics and declined to answer questions about expected retirements and promotions in the party's ruling Politburo, highlighting the secretive party's extreme sensitivity over personnel issues.

He said reforms would also aim to strengthen the legal system and decision-making, increase the government's responsiveness and "enhance supervision and restraint over the exercise of power." He was referring to Communist Party control over individual leaders, not an attempt to limit the party's unrivaled hold on power.

Li did not elaborate, but the congress is expected to address the case of former Politburo member and Shanghai party boss Chen Liangyu, who became the highest-ranking party member to fall in a decade when he was toppled amid a probe into wide-ranging corruption.

Although Hu's leadership has never been threatened, he is largely seen as weaker than past leaders, forcing him to compromise on some top appointments and other decisions. In a sign of possible constraints, Hu's retired predecessor, Jiang Zemin, was appointed to the committee handling the congress' arrangements, state media said Sunday.

Broadcast live on national television, Hu's opening speech was his highest-profile political address since taking power five years ago at the last party congress.
It was heavy with Communist rhetoric, with numerous references to holding "high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics."

Hu largely reiterated goals of making China reasonably prosperous by 2020.
He said the country would pursue a peaceful path internationally. He warned Taiwan against further secessionist activities, but emphasized China's desire for peaceful reunification.

Security was heavy in Beijing with police removing a group of older people who appeared to be carrying petitions from the crowds gathered near the Hall on the side of Tiananmen Square.

The congress' more-than 2,200 delegates will elect a new party Central Committee. That body in turn will approve a smaller Politburo and the all-powerful Politburo Standing Committee, the apex of power in China.

Deliberations over the lineup have been going on for months and will take place this week behind closed doors. Its makeup is officially announced after the congress ends.
Hu is expected to also push for the elevation of protege Li Keqiang onto the Politburo Standing Committee, while Xi Jinping, the party boss of Shanghai and the son of a revolutionary veteran, is also expected to get a seat.

Hii inawasaidia kutokulipa medical isurances, expensive retirement packages, high cooperate taxes in US.

The fact is, Africa ni kichwa cha mwendawazimu, WE SHALL NEVER LEARN FROM OUR PAST MISTAKES! Jinsi wakoloni walivyochukua raslimali zetu na kutunyanyasa, sioni kwa nini leo Africa ikumbatie China as if wao wana motive tofauti na ile ya wazungu wa mwanzo KUCHUKUA RASLIMALI zetu. Kifupi sisi waafrika ubongo wetu una kasoro. hata keshokutwa India, Brazil, Burma nk zikija juu, utakuta tunaelekea huko huko.

Lakini sikio la kufa halisikii dawa kamwe, so is Africa.
