We were all bowled over when Sony announced its super-sexy, insanely thin XEL-1 OLED TV last year. It’s time to rejoice as the new XEL-1 OLED TV is now available at select Sony Style stores for US $2500. It means it’s finally going to be available in the States. The XEL-1 TV has an 11-inch screen, and is just 3mm thin, the reason being that the TV doesn’t require backlighting. The materials used are carbon-based and emit light when an electric current is applied. At more than 1,000,000:1, deep blacks have never appeared so great. I am spellbound with the negligible price tag for such a beauty.
