NVITATION FOR SPONSORSHIP TO TRAIN PILOTS.​ The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (the Authority) was established on 1 November 2003 as a corporate body, pursuant to the Civil Aviation Act, Cap. 80 (R.E. 2006). The Act mandates the Authority to provide safety, security and economic oversight of the civil aviation industry in Tanzania. The regulated services fall in three categories: air transport services, aeronautical airport services (airside airport operations, ground handling, in-flight catering and aviation fuelling) and air navigation services. In addition the Authority provides air navigation services in Tanzania. Subsequent to its establishment, the Authority also established the TCAA Training Fund pursuant to section 3 (1) of the Civil Aviation (Contribution and Administration of the Training Fund) Regulations, 2008. The main purpose of the fund among others is to train Tanzanians in aviation specialities such as Pilots. The Authority now invites candidates to be sponsored by the Training Fund for training as Pilot for the financial year 2012/13. The candidate should meet the following criteria: She/he must be a Tanzanian citizen; Must have a first degree in any field from a recognized university Must be able to communicate thoroughly in English-speak and write Not less than 18 and not older than 25 years at the time of selection Outgoing and of a strong character interested in a highly charged industry –a strong conviction and adaptable to a high risk industry/environment Meets the entry qualifications and any other specified requirements in the Civil Aviation (Personnel Licensing) Regulations, as amended; Must pass a written and oral aptitude test conducted by qualified technical personnel of the Authority; Must pass a class 1 medical examination conducted by a designated Medical examiner including psychological assessment to undertake work in flying environment; Must submit a copy of his / her birth certificate; All copies of certificates must be certified by a lawyer.
