Majeshi yetu Comoro: Who is responsible?

Mimi naomba ufafanuzi kwa yeyote mwenye kuelewa maswala ya kupeleka majeshi nje ya nchi je ni nani ama watu gani wanakaa na kuidhinisha jeshi letu lipelekwe nje ya nchi?

Katika kinachoonekana kwa AU kuwa wanauwezo wa kumwondoa yeyote anayetumia nguvu kuchukua madaraka,nafikiri pengine wangeenda mbali zaidi kuwashughulikia wale wote wanaoiba kura ama kubadilisha matokeo ya kura na kuchukua madaraka,kwani hapa ndio tatizo kubwa kwa viongozi wetu kuchukua uongozi kwa nguvu sasa sijui ni jeuri gani inayowapeleka huko wakati mgogoro wetu wa zanzibar bado hatujautatua na uko wazi kabisa,hapa kuna kasoro kubwa nafikiri tungetatua huu mgogoro wetu kwani unatupa aibu kubwa sana.

Actually kupeleka majeshi Commoro sio mara ya kwanza, tulishapeleka enzi zile za JKN (RIP) na kupindua na kutawala kwa muda. Kwa bahati wakati ule kulikuwa na usiri sana. Sasa hivi ni vigumu kuficha. Tofauti ya kifikra ya sasa na zamani ni kuwa wakati ule JKN (RIP) alikuwa anapigana na ubeberu (west vs east), sasa hivi nadhani ni USA vs France.

Tatizo langu wakati huu ambao uchumi wetu bado uko chini tulitakiwa tujikite ndani zaidi badala ya mambo ya nje zaidi. JK anajua historia ya jeshi letu na anajua pia historia ya Commoro, being the retired Luteni Kanali, I think he is best on these issues than spearheading country's economy.

So far more than 2 years in office I dont have a clue as to where this country is JK taking to.

Mkuu hatuhitaji manneno ya chooni kujenga hoja hapa, hata kama kwenu ni maneno ya kawaida kama unavyodai, sisi kwetu ni ya choooni sio tu kwamba huwezi kuyatumia against viongozi, bali hata wananchi wenzako wa kawaida, hoja sio lazima ijengwe kwa matusi sio utamaduni wetu hapa, kwa hiyo pasuka mkuu lakini usituletee lugha mbovu hapa, weka hoja inatosha utaeleweka hapa, sio matusi.

I have no problem kujadili ujinga na uzembe wako, lakini pia ninaweza kujadili mapungufu ya viongozi wetu wa CCM na upinzani, bila matusi au lugha za hovyo na za chini katika jamii, nia ni kukosoa sio kutukana.

JF tunasikifika kwa hoja, sio matusi na lugha za choooni na kwenye vilabu vya pombe.

Kada Mpinzani, kuwa mwanaCCM kusikufanye uwe kipofu. Ho wanajeshi ni Kaka zetu na Dada zetu, ikiwa wamekwenda kama mamluki kwa jina la Tanzania sio mbaya, watakuwa wanauawa kwa tamaa yao ya hela.
Lakini kama mtu anapeleka jeshi letu kujitafutia sifa na kaka zetu wanauwawa huo ukada wako utakuwa hauna maana hata kidogo!. Jeshi sio siasa, lakini likienad nje ya Tanzania kuna siasa ndani yake, unatakiwa kuonesha uzalendao na sio ukada tu!

If uzembe and ujinga is matusi to you, I am sorry to hear of that, to me is just another expression of someone's behaviour, like sending our army in the harms way when our economy is at peril. TWO operations by the Comoran army to reclaim Anjouan island – held by rebel troops loyal to local ruler Mohamed Bacar – have resulted in 10 of his soldiers being killed, the military said yesterday.

Lieutenant-Colonel Mohamed Amiri Salimou said the National Development Army’s “successful” operations were carried out on March 9-10 and March 14-16, ahead of a planned African Union-led military invasion.

Salimou said two of his soldiers were wounded “but are not in danger”. Bacar’s men, he said, were repulsed when they grouped near a boat that ferried the forces across to Anjouan.


Bacar rebelled against President Ahmed Abdallah Sambi and the AU after they had ordered him not to hold local presidential elections last year, but he did so in June and was proclaimed the victor.

Sambi vowed to use force to regain control over Anjouan and stationed troops in the nearby island of Moheli, while Tanzania, Senegal, Sudan and Libya offered troops for the AU invasion. The Union of Comores, comprising Grand Comore, Anjouan and Moheli, has been shaken with 19 coups and attempts since independence from France in 1975.

Tanzanian Foreign Minister Bernard Membe said: “There were many opportunities for a negotiated settlement, but Bacar squandered all those chances.”

The foreign minister said Bacar only had some 300 troops at his disposal, whereas the joint Comoran-AU operation could count on 1800 men. — Sapa-AFP

Arrogance!!! they could be well trained and equipped better than those 1,800 men. Kuna haja ya mwanajeshi kuzungumzia operation naona huyu ataiweka kwenye jeopardy with his arrogance and may be naivety kwenye military operation(s).

Comoros pledge fresh elections after Anjouan operation10 hours ago

FOMBONI, Comoros (AFP) — The Comoros on Tuesday promised fresh elections in May in the rebel isle of Anjouan as it prepared a military operation to oust renegade leader Mohamed Bacar.

"After the operation on Anjouan and the restoration of constitutional order, there will be a transitional government which will have to swiftly organise elections to be held in May," Comoran Vice President Idi Nadhoim told AFP.

Colonel Bacar has ruled Anjouan -- one of the three islands in the Indian Ocean Comoran federation -- since June 2007 elections which were not recognised by the central authorities nor the African Union (AU).

Comoran government troops and AU-mandated contingents from Senegal, Sudan and Tanzania are currently gathering on the island of Moheli for a military operation aimed at wresting back control of Anjouan.

"Provisions have been made for the interim (period). Once Colonel Bacar is deposed, there will be consultations with the African Union and the international community," Nadhoim said.

Each one of the tiny archipelago's three islands has its own president and institutions. Bacar was elected as the Anjouanese president in 2002 but his 2007 re-election was rejected by the federal government.

South Africa's foreign minister said Tuesday there was still time for talks and a negotiated solution to the crisis.

"We believe that there is still the possibility of solving this dispute diplomatically," Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma said.

But the Comoran central authorities appeared in no mood to give Bacar another chance.

"Colonel Bacar will be arrested if he does not flee and will face Comoran courts for treason, usurpation of power, torture and war crimes, as documented by complaints which Anjouanese victims have filed," Nadhoim said.

Several witnesses have told AFP of cases of torture on Anjouan under Bacar's rule.

So far, around 400 Comoran troops from the National Development Army (AND) have regrouped on the Moheli. Most of the AU reinforcements are still on the main island of Grande Comore.

"It has been agreed that the operation will be conducted with the African Union troops, who want to take all appropriate measures to minimise the damage in Anjouan," Nadhoim said.

"But it's true that all this is taking too much time, civilians are growing increasingly restless and so are the soldiers, even if morale remains good," he added.

In Moheli, paramilitary chief Cheikh Mohamed said he was keeping his forces training daily to "avoid idleness and inaction".

Several tents and other palmed-roofed sheds and make-shift toilets make up the troops' camp in Moheli, the smallest of the three islands and home to some 45,000 people.

More than one month of tarrying on the tiny isle has caused impatience even among top soldiers who can't wait for the operation to begin, with some questioning the need to wait for AU forces.

The fractious archipelago has survived 19 coups or coup attempts since it acquired independence from France in 1975.
