A Canadian ice hockey coach has become an Internet phenomenon following a bench meltdown.
Abbotsford Heat head coach Jim Playfair threw objects on to the ice, ripped off his jacket and smashed a stick on an advertising hoarding after he took exception to a penalty call during a game against the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Playfair, a former coach of the NHL's Calgary Flames, has since apologised for his outburst and received a standing ovation from Heat fans at the team's next home game.
