Africare is an international non-profit organization working to improve the quality of life of the people in Africa. With the funding from USAID, Africare is implementing a Nutrition program in Manyara, Morogoro, and Dodoma regions in Tanzania. Hence therefore Africare is in need of filling following vacancies: 1. The Regional Manager/Coordinator will supervise District Officers, the regional M&E Officer, Finance and Admin. Officer, and work closely with government officials to ensure that the program achieves its objectives and documents results. He/she will coordinate with and report directly to the Project Management Team based at Africare Country Office. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Manage and coordinate nutritional project activities in the region of designation, plan activities, facilitating both implementation and documentation. Supervise District Officers, CHBCPs, and network with the district coordinator and other key stakeholders working with Africare in the district.

Capacity building: · Work with the District Officers, district coordinators, WMACs and CMACs to ensure selection, screening and training of CHBCPs within the designated region, as per national community Nutrition curriculum.· Work with the Regional and LGAs, district medical officers, district Nutrition coordinators, and nutritional supervisors to provide guidance to CHBCPs on training primary caregivers to provide quality nursing care, nutritional, material, referral and psychosocial support to PLHIV, in accordance with the National Guidelines. · Work with the different local and international organizations supporting partners and local community support structures to ensure that PLHIV are supported and linked to relevant support structures for their unmet needs, in accordance with the National HBC Guidelines.· Identify training needs of staff and HBC partners to coordinate regional training schedule. 3. Monitoring and Evaluation· Monitor implementation of the project in the field through supportive supervision visits to be conducted weekly. Submit weekly field visit reports to the Project Management Team. · Coordinate monthly conference calls (weekly for first 3 months of project start up) between Program Management Team and regional staff.· Review reports from field staff. Coordinate with Regional M&E Officer to compile reports for submission to the Project Management Team. · Conduct periodic literature reviews related to the project’s implementation, disseminate results to the project team and coordinate with Project Management Team to apply key findings. 4. Communication and Project Marketing
  • Liaise with Program/ Communications Assistant (based at Country Office) to develop program marketing materials including brochures, project briefs, and study results.
  • Work with M&E Officer and HBC Coordinators to identify best practices and prepare submissions to international conferences, research journals, etc.
  • Work with Project Management Team to develop pertinent HBC manuals, IEC and project materials including volunteer job aids and training tools.
5. Grants Financial and Administrative Management
  • Have a clear understanding of the project cooperative agreement and ensurecompliance during regular monitoring visits.
  • Work closely with Regional HBC Coordinators in preparing annual work plans and budgets.
  • Work closely with FAO and participate in procurement committees.
  • Execute internal controls including investigations of procurements as needed.
6. Liaison with Outside Agencies and Funding Acquisition
  • Represent the project and Africare and events and forums for project stakeholders.
  • Promote partnerships between Africare, local government authorities and other HBC implementation partners.
  • Liaise with Project Management Team to identify supplementary funding sources for wrap-around activities including water and sanitation for PLHIV, OVC services, nutritional support, and prevention education.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A post degree/Masters degree in Public Health (or related field) from a recognized institution of higher learning.
  • The candidate should have a social science background with proven working experience in public health, social work, and community development.
  • A background in nutrition at undergraduate level is an added advantage.

  1. Financial Responsibilities
· Custodian of petty cash for the Country Office.· Make petty cash payments and replenish the petty cash till accordingly.· Receive bills and distribute them to respective departmental heads for verification and seeking approval for payment.

  1. Financial Responsibilities
· Custodian of petty cash for the Country Office.· Make petty cash payments and replenish the petty cash till accordingly.· Receive bills and distribute them to respective departmental heads for verification and seeking approval for payment.
  1. Reporting Responsibilities
· In collaboration with the Regional coordinator and FAO, assist in compiling the Annual Administrative Report.· Assist all heads of departments in forwarding documents to Headquarters in Washington and to project sites.· Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.How to ApplyApplications should include a resume and cover letter.
