the government simply acknowledges the existence of acceptable, permitted faiths in the country by allowing the believers of those faiths to use their books in oaths. no one will force you to use a book you don't like. that has to do with individual freedoms. the rungu thing in parliament might have an issue to talk about, but i know for certain it does not interfere with individual freedoms.
Maharashtra, Utar Pradesh, Mumbai provincial government follows the electorates its leaders and members of assemblies are not bind by secular or religious beliefs, they can be sworn in using any holy book or for communists or non believer are free to use their hands.
India is an oldest democracy, and religious parties are allowed and you see peacfully BJP not.like congress is.a religious Hindu based party and after how many decades at last it is going to lead that big nation after a fair and free election.
I am sure they are not going to kill each other like CAR.
