I don't even like bongo flava but it has a unique sound and therefore people gravitate to that. this is the BIGGEST lesson Kenyan artists should be learning from bongo flava.
as far as I am concerned, sauti sol are almost single handedly trying to give Kenyan music an authenticity. everyone else is running to make some cheap, chewing gum gengetone that gets airplay for 2 weeks and everyone forgets about it and it does not appeal to anyone outside of Kenyan borders.
as cliche as this might make me, the only African music I listen to on a daily basis is afrobeat and amapiano....I can't get enough of that amapiano log beat. it's just banging!!!!
