What makes a good political leader?

Apparently the consensus is :

1. Often are people who do not seek power but have authority conferred upon them by others who value their judgement.

2. Serve as an example of intergrity and loyalty to public and other political leaders

3. Has good communication and interpersonal skills who can work with a range of people regardless of political party or opinion to achieve good for the nation.

4.can resist the various temptations and lures of political arena.

5. Has a strong character with both conscience and charisma.

6.able to listen to common people and represent them faithfully.

7. Must have the courage to say what needs to be said rather than tell public what they want to here.

B.be able to make difficult and unpopular desicions for greater good.

9. Has leadership style that focuses on coalition building rather manipulation to get what they want.

Just wondering how far our leaders past and present have conformed or deviated from the above traits?

It is more than difficult to have such a person. Painful enough our current and future family system doesn't cultivate good leader.

i can see that yuo are trying to quolify the late mwalimu nyerere, he is the one and the ony leader with the mentioned quolifications as a giant with the credits behind his life, only time will truly honour him.......

good leaders are rarest of breed now days...thats why good governance is not about personal attributes but institutional strengths and mechanism of control...katiba mpya itakayohakikisha impunity ya executive branch inakatwa
