Why Tanzania will never develop.
Tanzanians and humans in general have one flaw that is very common in their demise. They don’t value the endless possibilities of human freedom. Instead we assume that there are some of us who we can appoint and give endless powers and miraculously they will solve our problems.
In Tanzania especially the ideology that encompasses most people is a collectivist form of thought that is a result of our tribal nature. The consequence of this collective thought is government.
The unfortunate reality is Tanzanians are ready to look forward to a leader as a savior rather than look towards their ability to trade and the rewards that come from being innovative as an alternative solution. Innovation has never ever came from a Government leader.
Government hinders innovation because government involves itself in the free market making regulations and setting taxes that hinder the free market. Most if not all of Tanzania’s problems could’ve been solved by now by innovation in the free market and by international investors.
The property rights for international investors are non-existent and the taxes on international investors and on corporations are ridiculously high. Yet whenever the problem of unemployment of the youth in Tanzania is brought up the government ignores that it is the cause of the problem.
To make matters even worse the youth in Tanzania believe that putting in the right leader whom they think is Magufuli is going to solve the problem. Dear Tanzanian youth if there’s any truth in this world it is that government has no incentive to help you. Politicians don’t care about you no matter how much they claim to do so.
First this so called savior leaves multiple homeless with the bulldozing business without even compensating the victims. Then he meddles with the sugar industry and now we have a sugar shortage.
Then he meddles with international investors and wonders why youth unemployment is at a record high. Why do African politicians not understand that it is their regulations that lead to the same problems that they are trying to solve.
