Feel at home.
Feel at home.

Cross-border currency movement company Western Union and US tech giant Amazon have entered into a partnership that will allow Kenyans to use local currency to pay for products sold on the e-commerce platform.
The deal is aimed at widening Amazon’s customer base in the country by bringing on board clients who were locked out by hitches on the payment platform, which do not allow transactions in local currencies.
Similar partnerships are already working in nine other countries across the globe including in Chile, Colombia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Peru, Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand.
The e-commerce firm, owned by billionaire Jeff Bezos, recently launched a cross-border payment option dubbed ‘PayCode’ that processes complex foreign exchange, settlement and money movement requirements for international transactions.
After selecting PayCode on Amazon.com checkout page, online shoppers are sent a code with instructions on how to pay in person at a Western Union agent.
The move is expected to provide greater access to online goods for customers who were previously excluded from e-commerce due to lack of accepted payment methods.
“We’re helping to unlock access to Amazon.com for customers who need and want items that can only be found online,” said Khalid Fellahi, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Western Union Digital.
The two companies said they intend to avail more convenience and choice in a world where cross-border buyers and sellers are often located on different continents and in completely different financial ecosystems.
“Amazon is committed to enabling customers shop on our platform, and a big part of that is to allow customers to pay for their cross-border online purchases in a way that is most convenient for them,” said Ben Volk, Director, Payment Acceptance and Experience at Amazon.

Maanake Tzsh inaendelea kuyeyuka kila uchao. Hatutamind sana, I swear.Maybe mipakani lakini kwa mtu wa Dar es salaam kwanini aikumbatie ikiwa kuipata kwake ni sharti aende Bureau De Change au Bank ambako, kwa baadhi ya bank branches most traded currencies ni USD, EUR and STG!!
Anyway, I know Kenya are doing better kwenye online payment systems tena kwa freelancers kama mimi, nawaonea wivu sana lakini kwamba eti finally tutaikumbtia KES, uwezekano wake ni mdogo sana!

You can't be serious!!! Btw, unamaanisha nini unaposema pesa inaendelea kuyeyuka kila siku?! I repeat, there's no way KES inaweza kuwa mbadala wa TZSHela ya madafu ya Zimbabwe ilipoangukia pua hawakuwa na budi ila kuikumbatia Rand ya RSA. Tunawapenda sana watani wetu, acha KES iwe plan B yenu, sarafu ambayo ina confidence kimataifa. Maanake Tzsh inaendelea kuyeyuka kila uchao. Hatutamind sana, I swear.
We are here for you watani wetu wa jadi. Hahaha! You can't be serious!!! Btw, unamaanisha nini unaposema pesa inaendelea kuyeyuka kila siku?! I repeat, there's no way KES inaweza kuwa mbadala wa TZS
We are here for you watani wetu wa jadi. Hahaha!
Wewe bwana ulitakiwa CCM wakupe kazi ya Nape, jinsi ulivyotumalizia MB zetu , kumbe unazunguka mbuyu tuu, bongera lakini ukweli uko pale paleShilingi ya Tanzania inashuka dhidi ya nini Mpwa?! Lau kama ungeamua kuwa objective, ungefahamu kwamba usemalo will never happen!
Kinachotokea kwa TZS dhidi ya USD is just depreciation! Kwanza kwa sie wengine, hii manageable deppreciation kwetu ni opportunity, and YES, I mean it!
Now tell me; kuna mazingira ya kutokea hyperinflation hapa Tanzania kiasi waamue kugeukia foreign currencies?!
Kuzunguka mbuyu kivipi?! This's not politics jomba, it's economics!
