Zinedine Zidane took his 1st press conference of Real Madrid's pre season tour and answered the following questions:

How are Real doing so far this pre-season?

"It's the first day and we're doing ok. We still have a lot of players away at the moment but I'm very satisfied with what we're doing."

Morata returning?

"Morata is another member of the squad and he's very happy to have him in the squad, that he'll be another important player in a large squad this year."

Would you prefer a large squad or a smaller, more compact one?

"A large squad gives you a few more problems but that comes with the territory as Real Madrid coach. We have lots of youth players who aren't ready to play for the first team and go out to gain experience, like Morata, Carvajal, Vázquez."

In terms of Jesé?

"He didn't play much last year. As the coach I like Jesé as a player and want him to stay but it's impossible to say what will happen."

Paul Pogba interest?

"The idea is always to improve. Do I like Pogba? Yes, of course, but there are lots of good players. We have a big and good squad and while the Euros were on, that's that. We have 3 games coming up and that's the focus at the moment."

James status in the team?

"James is another member of the squad, he'll be back on the 23rd with Ramos and he is an important player for us. He didn't play that much and although he wanted to it's difficult to play everyone. I have to play the most competitive side I can and I'll do the same thing this season, that's my responsibility."

Any requests to Florentino Pérez for players ahead of the new season?

"I'm very happy with the squad I have but of course, until August 31, you never know." #‎HalaMadrid‬
