Police have arrested more than 100 suspects following a series of intelligence led operations conducted across the Kampala Metropolitan Area.

According to police, the operations were carried out on March 23, 2026 by the Uganda Police Force in coordination with other security agencies, following numerous public complaints about escalating criminal activities in different parts of the city and surrounding areas.

Police at Kira Division conducted operations in Kito B Cell, Kito A Zone and Kireku Main Zone, where 34 suspects were arrested.

In a similar operation, police in Entebbe carried out raids in Kawafu and Abaita Ababiri in Entebbe Division, Wakiso District, leading to the arrest of 46 suspects.

Meanwhile, police at Kajjansi conducted operations in KKB Zone, Ssanyi Village, Dewey Village and Kawali Village in Kajjansi Town Council, also in Wakiso District, where 17 suspects were arrested.

Authorities said the arrests followed complaints from residents related to social disorder, noise pollution, gambling and associated crimes such as burglary and theft.

Additional operations were conducted by police at Jinja Road Division in Kilombe, where seven suspects were arrested, while another seven suspects were arrested in operations conducted in Namayumba by police in Kakiri.

Police said the operations specifically targeted criminal gangs suspected to be involved in robberies, phone snatching, narcotic drug abuse and attacks on pedestrians, particularly during nighttime.
