Oscar Pistorius to be released on parole in August

South African Olympic and Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius is set to be released from prison on parole in August after serving 10 months for culpable homicide in the killing of his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, a family member said.

"Oscar will be released on parole by the end of August," a Pistorious family member who did not want to be named told Reuters. Pistorius started his five year sentence in October last year.

The south African sprint runner is about to be released on parole and serve the remainder of his 5 year sentence home. Oscar Pistorious was given the sentence after he was found guilty of shooting his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp to death.

On his defence, Oscar claimed he confused her with a burgler thats why he pulled the trigger.

The family of the deceased has expressed grief saying its unjust that after only ten months of srving the sentence, Oscar, their child's murderer is to be freed.
