The Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu (OBR) has postponed this year’s coronation anniversary from October 19 to November 14, 2026.
The OBR said the change was prompted by the KIng, Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere’s continued stay in Turkey, where he is undergoing a medical review.
The anniversary celebrations had initially been scheduled for October 19, but the new date is intended to allow the king to return and take part in the commemorations.
The OBR said further details about the celebrations will be communicated ahead of the new date.
