The Republican John Boehner was elected the new Speaker of the House today, marking a shift to the right in Washington as he replaced the first woman in the post, the Democrat Nancy Pelosi.

Mara nyingi hutokea kwamba the best for a president is to have majorities in the other houses (congress or senate). This way the people feel they get a balanced policy out of Washington. This was the case with Clinton after the Newt Gingrich's "Republican Revolution" you have mentioned, na ambayo ilimwezesha Clinton to shine by passing some balanced and well negotiated policies.
