Frank C Walsh
Frank Walsh holds a BSc in applied chemistry (Portsmouth Polytechnic) together with MSc (materials protection) and PhD (electrodeposition) degrees from Loughborough University of Technology. Following industrial experience as an electrochemical engineer and contract research work at the University of Southampton, an academic career has been pursued at the University of Strathclyde and, most recently, at Portsmouth Polytechnic. Dr Walsh leads a research programme in applied electrochemistry which includes studies of the phosphating of steel, electrodeposition of composite coatings, inhibition of metallic corrosion, marine corrosion and metal ion removal for environmental protection. He has presented and published over 80 papers on engineering aspects of electrochemistry.
